Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 July 2026 · applies to the OlxBG website (olxbg.in) and the OlxBG Campus Android app.
The short version
- We collect your college Google account details (name, email, profile picture) so you can sign in and so your campus is identified.
- Everything else is what you choose to post: listings, photos, comments, and the schedules you subscribe to.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone. No advertising networks, no analytics brokers, no third-party trackers.
- You can delete your account and everything in it at any time — just ask.

What we collect and why

The Android app specifically
- The app stores a personal access token on your phone so it can fetch your schedule. It's kept in the app's private storage and is never shared.
- The app reads your subscribed schedules to show the home-screen widget and to post reminder notifications. This happens on your device.
- The app does not access your contacts, photos, files, location, microphone, camera or call logs.
- Permissions used: internet access, notifications, alarms (for on-time reminders), and run-at-boot (so reminders survive a restart).
What we never do
- We do not sell your data. There is nothing to sell it for — this is not a business.
- We do not run ads or advertising SDKs.
- We do not share your data with third parties, except the service providers needed to run the site (our hosting provider, and Google for sign-in only).
- We do not read your uploaded documents beyond running the check you asked for.
How long we keep things
- Account data: until you ask us to delete it.
- Listings: removed listings are purged after a short retention period; sold listings after the campus retention setting.
- Documents uploaded for checks: deleted once the report has been delivered to you.
- Server logs: rotated by our host in the normal course.
Deleting your account
Email electronicsmademe@gmail.com from your college address with the subject “Delete my account”, or message the number listed on the site. Your account, listings, photos, comments and subscriptions are deleted within 7 days. You can also revoke the app's access instantly from My Campus → Calendar → Regenerate token, which stops all reminders to your devices.
Children
OlxBG is intended for college students and is not directed at children under 13.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Passwords are never stored because sign-in is handled entirely by Google. That said, this is a student-run project — please don't post anything you'd be upset to see leaked.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we'll note it on this page and, where it matters, in the app.
